Red Roof

Bright and beautiful but perishing - a ferocious east wind on the blow. We decided to go up a mountain! Actually feckin freezing  very exhilarating - a steep climb at the start onto the moorland, past a lake then down lower through teeny settlements with interesting runs, then on through fields with views out towards shiny the cliffs, steering clear of some laid back cattle, then down to a harbour, the sun glinting off the water blinding us, then a very steep climb back up past this little ruined shed with its vivid orange roof. What colours today - changing ever second - see extra*. Certainly put the roses in our cheeks.

Loving - well worth seeing, slow, elegant and understated with some very nuanced main performances. Good chips too. And a glass of wine. And a chocolate ice cream.

New blog too : the ferocious Fionnchú!

Thanks too to 60Plus for doing the business re Derelict Sunday.

* Forgot to put the extra in and now it won't let me
