Sea Harrier in the shadows

Resting (or ready to be called) in the shadows at the Newark Air Museum. ZA176 first entered service on December 16th 1981 as a FRS.1 version and operated from HMS Hermes during the Falkland's War in 1982. The aircraft was also involved an international incident on June 7th 1983 when pilot Lt. I. 'Soapy' Watson was forced to land ZA176 on the Spanish freighter Alraigo after an avionics malfunctions left him unable to locate, or contact the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious. The landing area used on the Alraigo freighter was containers carrying the base plate for a telescope that was being shipped to the La Palma Observatory in the Canary Islands.
