BBC Bahrain

8.3C bright and sunny. Wind E/ENE to 33 mph with gusts to 46 mph.

Maeve the Deerhound was up just before 4am. I took her out then went back to bed !
The direction of the wind was making the bedroom chimney a bit more noisy again and the ventilation strip above the window was making and odd howling/whistling noise which had definitely upset her. I let Maeve spend the rest of the night in the living room.

Apothecary7's day off.

Before lunch we fitted new front windscreen wipers on Apothecary7's car.

After lunch Apothecary7, Maeve, and I went for the repeat of the morning walking route across the road and round to the park and the harbour and back along through town.

Once Maeve was back home and settled we went for a walk. We went round past Aquilibrium round the harbour and along the little park by the ferry terminal. BBC Bahrain was at the new quay waiting for a chance to load the wind turbine tower sections that were waiting alongside. Some had been offloaded and were on the quayside and some were still on the low loaders that bring them into town from the factory out at the airport. A fishing boat came in when we were going by the harbour. It must have been very choppy out at sea.

The wind was screaming across the loch driving wave after wave into the near bank and there was a fair bit of splashing over the shore path along the park. We were glad we had left Maeve at home. She wouldn't have coped with the wind very well at all we thought. We carried on out Kilkerran road to Glenramskill House and as far as the NATO jetty then turned and came back along the street side of the park and came home through town passing the town hall and the bookshop (open).

We felt quite battered by the wind as had most everyone in town judging by the conversations in the Coop when we had gone to buy fresh bread for lunch earlier.

Afternoon telly ... Antiques Road Trip. There was tea with custard filled doughnuts.
