Thirds

Low tide and nice flat hard sand for walking this morning. But just turn your head a little to the left and you will see the rest of the beach--littered with wood and debris from the last storm (Extra). The shoreline was decorated with driftwood sculptures, intricate lean-tos, and teepees scattered among the logs and seaweed. Tractors were moving the larger pieces closer to the road so they could be cut up loaded out. To top it off, there was a lot of construction activity down past the casino--spraying concrete for the new walkway and nailing down part of a new redwood deck. It was comforting to turn away from all that and contemplate the stripes.
