Purple Globe

One of the things I love about the allotment is that we can grow veg that we otherwise could not afford to buy. Especially in the quantity that we eat them. One such veg is globe artichokes. These are wonderful, fiddly to prepare but so worth it! The later ones usually flower and here is one. They really are majestic and beautiful colours.

Dug up half the desire potato crop, good job we are not relying on this to see us through all winter, small crop but not too much slug/pest damage.
