Nasty Norr

What an adventure! I suggested to pals Jeanneb53 and Helen that we try an 'unfamiliar walk in familiar territory' today so we set off from the village to do a circular walk which took in Norr Hill. I found the trail guide on the Bradford Met. website. Helen and I have done a couple of these before and they are very good, well waymarked etc. We joined the circuit on Lee Lane at the back of Wilsden and there was the first ominous sign - a stile overgrown with nettles. Helen of the long trousers volunteered to bash down the nettles and we negotiated the stile but then there was no obvious path, the ground was seriously waterlogged and big animals had spent some time in the fields we had to cross!

To cut a long story short, after the weather we have had it was obviously not the best day for this particular route so after descending from Norr Hill (which would have fantastic views on a good day!) we cut the walk short and finished up at the garden centre for toasted teacakes and tea! Good company and lots of chat made up for the soggy boots and mud spattered legs! The blip was taken on the timer, balancing the camera on the windswept trig point at the top of Norr Hill, hence the wonderful hairdos!
