Port Hills Fire

 A fire has been raging out of control for a few days in Christchurch now.  late today and into this evening it became increasingly serious, taking out several houses and leaping the road.  The properties 500m from my house have been urgently evacuated and I'm monitoring closely in case I have to evacuate.  It's after midnight here, but I can't really go to sleep.  I took these shots (check out the extra) just a few hundred meters from my place.  These are hills where I go riding at least once a week and usually more.  It's devastating.  There just aren't words.  Six years ago it was the earthquakes and now this.
