Life through the lens...

Blacktoft Sands

Our first visit this year to RSPB Blacktoft Sands, near Goole.
We thought the day would be mainly sunny, but unfortunately was mainly cloudy. Not great for bird spotting, and as it happened there wasn't anything special to spot.
The bittern which has been seen lately  didn't give a fly past. Obviously knew we were coming!
However it was nice to get out in the fresh air, and have a walk round.
I have made a collage of a few of the birds we did see.
Greylag goose, with the bright orange beak and legs. Only two and making a real noise.
The lovely little Snipe, with its stripes, and long slender bill.
A grey heron skulking among the reeds.
Bright Bracket fungus spotted on a tree as we were going back to the car.
Then on the way home we stopped off at our wood supplier, and filled the car up with bags of logs.
Now that will make the weather turn warmer!  Although today it did  reach 13C.
