Yesterday Mum was assessed by the dementia care home, and in the afternoon, they decided that they would accept her.So today the hospital were to discharge so we could take her straight there. In the morning I took a car load of things to put in her room to make it look a bit homely, and set up the T.V. It was tea time before we left the hospital, and dark. Mum sat in the car very quietly, but was so frightened when we arrived. She looked so frail and lost. Lin and Steve and I took turns to keep up the conversation in between the tears that we all shed. Eventually she agreed to have a cup of tea and a biscuit and relaxed a bit. Here she is saying that she wont smile for the camera as she wants to be dead. We pushed her in the wheel chair around a bit so she could see all the lounges and then I took her back to her room and helped her get washed and ready for bed. A traumatic day for us all.
