Flower Friday - Hyacinth Orchid

Just popped inside the gate at Waverley Lodge so that the Rower could photograph our new carpark, and I saw the very last vestiges of this hyacinth orchid (Dipodium roseum).  They are curious plants: no leaves and invisible for most of the year, they throw up a flower spike from their fleshy roots in the middle of summer.
