Roman about in the wild woods

Shopping and breakfast first thing in Berkhamsted, a small town in the Borough of Dacorum.  Dacorum is a Roman place-name associated with Dacian Auxiliaries who apparently settled in the area.

Then a walk in the Ashridge Forest where a half-term history project reinforces the Roman connection.  See extras.

Note to bluebell blippers in the area (you know who you are); shoots are starting to emerge in the leaf litter.
