Sgwarnog: In the Field

As planned we had a modest family meet-up at Bolton Abbey, a beautiful spot but even in the winter quite busy.

9yo, 12yo and I headed out to Steeton & Silsden on the train where Sister #1 @MrsRobert10 and @Robert10 had kindly offered to pick us up en route. Sister #2 and family had brought my Mum, and they were already ensconced in the Pavilion cafe so lunch was in order on arrival. Mum can't walk far these days, but she stretched her legs with us a little, Some of us took the short circuit down to the stepping stones and back via the abbey ruins and the Priory, while the longer limbed took off up stream. On the river we saw a Dipper and a Grey Wagtail among the gulls and ducks.

At the Priory I was admiring the iron work on the doors, so here's my image for the day.

It's always good to send some time with family, and we now know that 12yo is officially taller than his Granny.
