Pulled out

This is the casing of one of the two sea coolingwaterpumps of Eems 20.
Because of vibrations in one of the bearings the pump itself has been pulled out for inspection and repair.
Because of the Christmas holydays the 680 MegaWatt unit is not needed so we have the opportunity to do repairs and cleaning.
See this one from yesterday)
This pump has a capacity of 9.5 cubic metres per second (9500 liters per second).
The diametre of the casing is about 2½ metres and the casing stands about 3 metres above and about 7 or 8 metres under the floor of the pumping station.
On the inside the casing is completely coated with rubber, to prevent from rust.
(on the new pumping station the casings are made of concrete)
The impellers look alike and are both made of titanium.
