Rhododendron

It was very muddy underfoot but up the woods in Pollok Country Park it was worth putting up with the muddy boots to see the pink rhododendrons just bursting into bloom. 

There has been quite a bit of felling and cutting back some of the old trees ... I think the bonfire in the extra photos is one way of getting rid of some of the unwanted branches.

Glad L and I had our walk in Pollok this morning ..... the afternoon has been VERY cold, windy and wet.
