Transport

In between dropping off and picking up Mrs Rex's car for a service I spent some time on public transport and some time in Kirkcaldy Art Gallery looking at the work of Kate Downie RSA who, over the years, has had a series of extraordinary residencies including placements in a brewery, an oil rig, on the Great Wall of China and most recently on the Forth Road Bridge. I know which residency I'd volunteer for. I guess we can't all be artists but piss artist is easily achievable.

The extra is one of the 55 sculptures made for the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail in Dundee in 2016 and this one was painted by Kirkcaldy artist Susan McGill who brings together two Scottish icons. Robert Burns and Oor Wullie. Together they make the perfect Scotsman apparently. Full of wit, ingenuity, humour, passion, romance, comfortable in dungarees and can take a good bucket.
