Pink Shirt Day

February 22nd is Pink Shirt Day in Canada.  This is Anti-Bullying Week and the two go hand in hand. In 2007, two high school students, David Shepherd and Travis Price of Berwick, Nova Scotia (which is just 'down the road' from my parents'), bought and distributed 50 pink shirts after a male ninth grade student was bullied for wearing a pink shirt during the first day of school. This has grown into a nationwide campaign to end bullying.


Our school was totally pink today and this student was wearing one of my favourite pink t-shirt slogans (last year's).


Incidentally, it was a very foggy day after a great rain storm yesterday evening.
