Abstract Thursday: Carnival

Ingeborg's optional topic for today's Abstract Thursday challenge is "Carnival".

It hasn't been a very carnival-ish sort of day in the UK today, as we've been at the mercy of Storm Doris (I gather from Ingeborg's blip that Storm Doris is now hitting the Netherlands). And no carnivals were scheduled for Macclesfield today.

So a bit of lateral thinking was required. I decided to photograph the screen of my laptop whilst playing the final few bars of Saint-Saens's "Carnival of the Animals" music, using the "Visualisations" function in Windows Media Player - the "Alchemy Random" effect. I set the camera onto rapid fire then chose the most effective shot to blip.

So this is an abstract visual version of a clip of the Carnival music.

(PS Many thanks to those who had a guess at yesterday's "Whatsaat Wednesday" blip. Many of you were pretty well spot on - it was spiral binding - not of a book or notepad but of a daily flip-over calendar. Well done to those who more or less got it right!)
