Learning day by day

Fantastic Day!

We headed to South Ken to the Royal College of Music for a Sparks day of two workshops, one making music with a circus theme, the second learning circus skills. What the kids didn't know was that we were meeting Mummyandgirl who had told me about the workshop in the first place.

So in the first workshop Will played his violin, Carys and I were both on the Steinway concert grand piano! She had no idea what she was playing, but I did. Will loved it, he was so confident in what he was doing and the bassoonist with was impressed at the sound he made, she had been expecting more squeak and squeal from a seven year old on the violin!

The second workshop after dinner was circus skills. It was fab. I managed to get a diabolo to work, Will balanced on my shoulders as you can see, Carys showed massive potential at tightrope walking and we (C, W and I) managed a five way balance with K&K. Impressive, but the best was to come.

Part of the day included tickets to watch Amaluna, Cirque du Soleil's show at the Albert Hall. It was absolutely amazing. Carys's face in particular was wonderful to watch. After the show we said goodbye to K&K at South Kensington and headed reluctantly home. A fantastic day as Will said when he was saying goodnight and thanking me for sorting it out. A brilliant end to half term.
