Wound up in Wexford

Activity

It's been a hive of activity here today.

We've had 3 doors replaced upstairs - the ones that were in situ were inadequately braced, and consequently had warped.  The lads have done a good job.  Just need varnishing now.  We had a brief power cut - about 2 and a half hours - last night.  But the lads who fitted the doors had not been able to finish one of them, as their power had gone off last night, and was still off this morning.  They brought the pieces here and finished it off.

At the same time, Matt was here lopping out a branch from the unidentified fruit tree (a cherry plum of some sort) on our boundary, in the hope that the underlying bare root hedge (those little twiggy things you can see sticking up below, which were planted in the autumn) will blossom out and restore our privacy.  Maybe not instantly, but over the next couple of years.

In other news - I feel loads better today.  I am pottering around the house without walking aids and just using a single stick to walk outside.  I climbed on the exercise bike today, and managed to get the pedals turning - no resistance as yet, but give it time.  I did intend to get out for a walk, but there has been so much going on that there wasn't time.  Tomorrow is another day.
