It's a Journey....

Primping

The Inn at Timber Cove in Ashland, Wisconsin has a pair of mallards named Peter and Wendy.   Peter and Wendy came last spring as ducklings and have lived among the cats and dogs.  In the fall the owners took them down to the lake hoping they would instinctively fly south.  Instead, they found their way  home.  So they are spending their winter in a cozy barn. Brian and Tina have made them a small pool with a water heater so it doesn't freeze.  This morning Peter and Wendy spent a great deal of time washing up in the pond and primping and preening.

Today we traveled from Ashland to Duluth.  After soaking in the hotel's outdoor  hot tub, we have a tradition of going to a pub on the Sunday after the race to get bangers and mashed with our friends.  Tonight we were told we could order anything off the menu, except bangers and mashed, or anything with shredded pork or turkey!  Either they have had a very busy weekend or couldn't pay their food distributor!  But, of course, we still  had a fun time.
