Brecon Mountain Railway

The weather forecast was not just a bit grim, it was terrible. We were also two Permitted leaders down so my group opted for a lowland walk up the West side of Pontsticill Reservoir from Pant station to Torpantau from where we enjoyed the steam railway back.

Although disappointing to come all this way to the Brecon Beacons and yet end up going a lowland walk, it was very successful: the young people did all the navigation and made good progress. I also had an assistant leader with me who wanted navigation coaching and I enjoyed being able to do that.
