It's still winter....

but this Acer Palmatum   (Japanesse Maple) doesn't think so.  It has begun to grow and flush out.  The leaves are a yellow to green to red around the edges.  They are young and very tender.  I will have to watch them because they will burn in any kind of cold, or near freezing.  The leaves are really pretty.  
      I will wait now for the new growth to harden off, get green with chlorophyll, before I will do any kind of fertilizing.
