Ladybird books

Do you remember them from childhood?
We seem to have a lot of these 'Ladybird books for adults' coming through the charity shop at the moment. I suppose they were given as Christmas presents and they are the sort of book that you would only look at once! The Wife, The Husband and The Grandparent are quite chuckle-worthy, some of the others less so.
My favourite quote from this one is:-
Sometimes the wife needs a break.
Gail is happy that she has managed to find a few hours to spend with her friends, away from her home, husband and children.
They are all relaxing by talking about their homes, husbands and children.

We even get a mention in The Grandparent. Something along the lines of grandparents buying 'stuff' for their grandchildren, thinking that they are going to be heirlooms when in reality they will end up selling for 50p in the Sue Ryder shop.

Both quite true!
