Not a Roman in sight.

The Antonine Wall, this is one of the best sections of the wall. Built by Antonius Pius AD 142-43, it replaced Hadrian's Wall as the northern frontier of the Roman Empire at that date. Essentially it is a wide deep ditch with earthen ramparts. Forts are located along its 40 or so miles, Roughcastle Fort west of here is well known.
