Australian king parrot

There's a place on the Great Ocean Road where everyone goes to see the koalas, which can usually be spotted asleep in a branch of eucalyptus. But the main attraction for the coachloads of tourists were these very tame king parrots, which were happy to land on people's heads or backs if no-one was feeding them. This gorgeous specimen is a female; the male has a red head and neck but I think these are smarter.

We did also see 10 koalas; the site is Grey River Road at Kennet River in Victoria.
