A New Day

Ballinbreich Castle Ruins

We took advantage of the beautiful sunshine today to drive to Abernethy for lunch (no cakes were consumed!) and then along the coast road of Fife to Newport.  This road is new to us and so it was the first time we've seen this ruined castle, which I had to look up online when I got home.

It's known locally as "Bambreich" Castle and was started in the 14th century and added to in the 15th and 16th centuries, becoming a most beautiful building with lots of unique architecture.  Must have been spectacular in its heyday with its superb location overlooking the Firth of Tay.

Pancake Day today - how can I resist?  (I'm not going to!!)
