Gravestone

I will lie me down.
B'tween grass and sod,
root and worm,
season old
and new to come,
I will lie me down.
And rest,
oh yes, rest,
for my journey
has been arduous to walk.
Many times did I flatter
yet know not the talk,
and bounding I went
through hell and it's steam,
yet never considered
my own self esteem.
And now that it's done,
my walk with the living,
I wait in my place,
time far more forgiving.
This I would say,
to you who still walk,
the moments are all.
That's it.
No more.
