Both The Pretty Horses

I got off the bus at Mill Sand. The tide was high so all the waders were on the fields- a big mix, hard to count but I think there were about 90 bar-tailed godwits in there. I walked up the track by Loch of Tankerness, where a hen harrier was hunting, detoured a little to photograph these horses, and then over to Long Ayre., then along the shore of Inganess Bay to the main road where I caught the airport bus back to town. Other birds: 3 singing skylarks, 6 ravens, 2 snipe, 1 jack snipe, and plenty of waders including purple sandpipers, turnstones, curlew, oystercatchers in good numbers etc.
