The Way I See Things

Stow-on-the-Wold

This is the famous north door of the Parish Church of St Edward in Stow-on-the-Wold, closely flanked by yew trees. I was in Stow today to have my hair cut, and unusually I managed to arrive a few minutes early, so I was able to take a brisk photo walk around the centre of the town.

I don't personally find this church especially attractive, but it is Grade I listed and has some interesting internal features that will be worth photographing on a day of better light. For today I contented myself with this view, which because of its drama has been snapped thousands of times - I've put in a closer shot (which I think I may actually prefer) as an extra.

There's a Wiki about the church here.

By the time I left the hairdresser's it was snowing, but sadly in a tiny-needles-of-ice-blowing-against-the-face kind of way, rather than anything more photogenic. As I drove home along the Cotswold Edge it was sleeting with some determination, but I think the ground is probably too wet for anything to have settled.
