Maasai Warrior in remote Scottish village

This afternoon I met Richard (pictured) the leader of the Osiligi Maasai Warriors, currently on a UK tour to raise money for their school in Kenya.

They were performing in Fintry village hall, deep in the Campsie Hills.

As well as singing and dancing the troupe talked about their lives in Africa. Richard recently speared a lion that attacked him, another is a specialist in wild animal calls and he demonstrated some while a third had taken part in a Hollywood film - which was made in Korea!

The hall was packed with young and old.
And the highlight of the performance came when the warriors invited members of the audience to jump with them. One of the first off the block, so to speak, was a very sprightly grey haired woman. See Youtube video.

She got a tremendous reception from the audience.
