Enfield Waterways (cont.)

Two in one.  Here is the aqueduct carrying the New River over Turkey Brook, near Forty Hall in Enfield.  The original course of the new River, which followed the contours into the neighbouring fields, was shortened when this embankment was constructed in Victorian times.  The structure on the right here is part of the water management system, I think, which probably provides a means to drain the New River.
