Growth!

Another day of working hard on #2 Daughter's allotment, but without an excuse to go to a garden centre. A couple of her friends joined us today so we got a lot of work done. This included moving more plants from her other beds,.

It turned out that the grass she was worried about on the paths just rolled up with the membrane the previous tenant had laid! Getting it out made rotten wooden bed supports collapse.

Suddenly everything had changed! Kat couldn't quite get her head around the fact that 6 of us had worked very hard but had ended the day leaving the plot looking worse than when she had taken it on! The big thing is that, now the grass paths are gone to the tip and the random edges to beds have been removed, she can borrow her friends rotavator and chose how she lays out the allotment!

After a meal at Kat's we would have made our way quickly home, but we had a flat tyre. (I had seen lots of broken glass at the allotment.) There was only one tyre fitter in Edinburgh open until 8pm. We made our way there on the temporary spare!

3rd car problem in 3 weeks! Nothing to do with the broken glass, as it happened!

Oh! And Happy Birthday, Kat!
