Fire. In the Sky

With my interest in things celestial I have noticed that the distance between the points where the sun sets on consecutive days increases considerably as the spring equinox. approaches ( 21st March). Now I am assuming this is because the earth's speed relative to the sun speeds up as ithe earth attempts its 6 monthly to escape its orbit around the sun. However at some point the Suns gravity pulls it back slowing it down. I am so pleased it does as otherwise wtf (that's "where" rather than "what") would we be. Not long till the sun actually sets in the west (21st March) The it will be the 21st September (autumn equinox) when it does next.
However we still perpetuate the misconception that "the sun rises in the east and sets in the west every day when In fact Its only on 2 days a year that it actually happens. So There We Are Then.
