The Accademia Gallery

We spent today in a couple of galleries - the Bargello and the Accademia. We really scored because entrance was free today - as it is the first Sunday of every month - and the queues to get in were quite short. Although we are by no means great art lovers I must admit to being blown away by the quality and quantity of fantastic Renaissance pictures, frescos and sculpture we have seen today. Michelangelo's David (blip) is brilliantly presented in the Accademia gallery and much bigger than I'd anticipated.
We'd a good Tuscan lunch at Zara near the market ( thanks Robin) and also managed to see the stunning Santa Croce church.
