Arvin at the Grand

Our friend Carol, also known as Legacy emailed awhile back and suggested we take some photos together. Today was the day. Our original plan was to go to the Farmer's Market together. But yesterday I got a call from the Jansen Art Center that my paintings had been accepted for their fall show and could I come up today between 10 and 1:30. Luckily Carol was fine with the change of venue. So we drove the paintings up (and some photo cards for the store) and spent the middle of the day in Lynden. I dropped off the paintings and then we all walked around the art center together. Carol hadn't been there so she was delighted to be able to explore the place. This photo is of Arvin, playing the grand piano that is in the concert hall in the building. Large version here. Carol was as impressed as we are with the place. We then ate a yummy lunch at Dutch Mothers' Restaurant and ambled around the various antique stores in town. We stopped at another bakery and bought some yummy deserts for later. After our wanders we headed to our house when we managed to eat most of the desert. Mmmm. We had a great day together.
