Rhinos in combat

Attacker with ears forward, defender with ears back, these Southern White Rhinos were at loggerheads at Orana Wildlife Park today.

Orana Park is an 80 hectare open range sanctuary on the outskirts of Christchurch. I spent a great day wandering among the 400 animals with Nature Photography Club members. Streams, moats and banks are used as barriers, so that visitors can view the animals in similar conditions to their natural habitat.
