The Old Forge (Sunday 5th March 2017)

Another diary blip, this time to commemorate the installation of a new window in my study, finally, after the old wood-frame one disintegrated. Luckily there was some secondary glazing to keep the draughts out.
I went out for the afternoon while it was being fitted but the weather turned gloomy and rainy after not too bad a morning and I got no pictures, so this was taken after I got back home, c. 1832 hr.
The Extra shows the window in daylight the following morning.

Gentle On My Mind is from Alison Krauss’ new solo album Windy City. The song was written and recorded by John Hartford in 1967 but the hit version was by Glen Campbell. Hundreds of other covers of it exist, of which this is the most recent. She performed it on Women's Hour  this morning.
