Nether Largie South

My image is of the two small(er) standing stones at Nether Largie South :-)
Day off and as the weather forecast sounded promising we headed up to Kilmartin Glen to give my new car a longer outing.
We parked at the car park near the standing stones then walked across the field to these stones. We then carried on up the glen visiting the Temple Wood stones and the and the different cairns finishing with the Glebe Cairn.
Maeve seemed to manage this walk quite well which was encouraging.
Lunch was at the cafe at the Kilmartin museum where we could sit outside with Maeve and enjoy our bowl of soup.
Lunch over we headed back to the car doing via Lady Glassary wood.
On the way home we stopped for afternoon tea at Glenbarr.
At 4.30pm we took Maeve for her first visit to the vets here in Campbeltown. We had a chat with the vet and he examined Maeve. Old age and an arthritic hips. No surprises. We got some Metacam and Beachcomber  will take her back in two weeks to have a chat and assess if this helps. We are pretty sure it will ease the situation which is what we hope. Other than that keep exercising and visiting beaches which seems like as good a prescription as any for all of us.
