Art from the Russian revolution

It's 100 years since the Russian revolution and I was able to go to see a collection at Royal Academy of art from 1917 through the 1920s until 1932 when Stalin only allowed his brand of socialist realism. There were some really interesting works by people like the filmmaker Vertov and surreal art by Kazimir Malevich. Not sure what the poor peasants at the time thought of it. I imagine they had to agree they liked it!
