Wet Cornflower

We had rain today, 16mm. This is more than the total rainfall for several weeks. The rain had trouble seeping into the hard, dry ground, but bushes and trees that have been wilting are looking fresh now. It’s come a bit late for the poplars that have jettisoned all but the leaves on the branch tips, and the big Viburnum plicatum bush, which is covered with dead leaves. It will revive in the spring. The temperature drop is a bit of a shock.
