coming home

Marius got his final once-over done by the paediatrician and I got a last check-up by the midwife and then we were ready to go home! It took us until about noon to get all of our stuff packed, for Pierre to install the car seat, to clean and tidy up the room, and for our photos to be taken :) A lady came and did a little photo shoot with Marius and we'll be able to buy the prints we like the best once they're developed.

Another lady from the Dauphine newspaper also came to take our photo! We will hopefully appear in the next couple of weeks.

We got home at around 2pm and Pierre's dad had prepared lunch for us. Mum and dad were there too. We had pate and salad to start, followed by roast lamb and a beautiful chocolate tart that mum had brought. Marius's first 'repas en famille'! :)

I felt a little overwhelmed (and knackered!) but it was great to have the wee man back home with us.

The photo is of us leaving the maternity unit at the hospital. We were brilliantly looked after by everyone there. The food was good and the care was excellent. It was like living in a little bubble for 4 days.
