Maankwartier Heerlen

A very nice building next to the Heerlen station. I  was a little early for the appointment I had and took my time to make some blips. Someone who saw me blipping, informed me about the architect often visits his 'baby'.

In the extra the most intriguing piece of art; the Helio Stat (solar tower). This is a tower topped by a hemisphere where a mirror is attached at the bottom. This mirror should reflect daylight to places in the building where sunlight doesn't reach,  like in the underground garage. To make sure it catches sunlight constantly, it is attached to a very precise Astronomical Clock.
