The Ship - Door

This morning we went to U3A photographic and although the talk was about taking control of your camera which is pretty basic there is always something there that you learn.  An enjoyable talk.  On the way home we called into the Ship Alveston as KG is doing pictures for a local calendar.  The theme is (I think) history  in the community.  I don't know how many people notice this door but the brass plaque states "This is the original Ship Entrance door which dates back to 1589 " when Henry IV was on the throne History of The Ship Hotel

We only noticed it a few years back and are fascinated by this historical door being in a pub.
