Protected by the Forest

This high mountain village, Mex, is surrounded by forest which effectively catches any possible avalanches that could threaten it. If you look at the big slope above the village you can see where 3 big slab avalanches have gone down. Right now it is snowing up there again, a dangerous time in the Alps.
