Life through the lens...

Mist and mizzley

Don't tell me it is blue sky and sun in Yorkshire!!!

You can see what the weather is like down here in Cornwall.
A lot of you will also recognise this.
Porthleven.
Not the best of days, but didn't stop us having a walk along the cliff past the house you can see ( just) in the distance.
We then had a look round some of the galleries in the town, and then had lunch of a nice warming parsnip and curry soup, and coffee at Naughty But Nice.

Afterwards we walked in the other direction, and called in to the Old Lifeboat Galllery, where there was an exhibition of various paintings and sculptures, which are going to be auctioned off.
Porthleven's Great Baulk Auction will take place on the 18th March to raise money for the Fisherman's Mission.
The paintings have been done on parts of the broken large two tonne pieces of wood with metal bolts, called baulks. They are put in across the harbour entrance to protect the boats in winter, but during the storm on the 5th February 2014, they broke under the weight of the continuous storm, and ended up destroying 10 of the 40 boats.

The wood was cut into into manageable sizes and various artists have contributed to the project.

I bought a poster showing some of the paintings, and look forward to framing it and putting it up in the kitchen.

Despite the poor weather we have still had a very enjoyable day.
Would be nice if the weather improved tomorrow, but not looking very promising!

Have tagged this for Wild Wednesday, and wide Wednesday.( thanks BobsBlips thought this would be suitable for ' m'.)
