Mosedale

A fabulous day in the hidden corner of the Lake District we went to today. Fairweathergirl's charm worked again and only the boggyness of the path from Wet Sleddale hinted at our more usual weather. But even that was fascinating as every pool or puddle we passed was alive with frogs and fresh spawn. But sadly no adders.

People often tell me the Lakes is too busy - but today, with a little local knowledge we headed somewhere spectacular and saw not a solitary soul after we left the carpark.
This remote and wild seeming valley had lots of navigational challenge - but FWG has a solid toolkit now, so we confidently made our way from vague feature to contour wrinkle to knowing where we were with no real features - stopping every so often to simply stare and admire.

The extras show the distant red deer we shared our day with and FWG's previously unknown superpower.
