Life in Newburgh on Ythan

The Glebe

A glebe is a piece of land serving as part of a clergyman's benefice and providing income. The term comes from the  Latin gleba, glaeba  meaning clod, land or soil.

This is a picturesque corner of the Foveran Parish Church glebe. I imagine that the drifts of snowdrops will have been there for a century or more. In the "extra" I have tried to present the scene as a Victorian might have photographed it.
