Please Walk Your Bike

One of my close friends kindly sent me this photo of sign from the US.

I got thrilled to know the verb, walk, can have bike as its direct object, which seems very common on roadsigns according to my research. The phrase also reminded me of another phrase, walk a dog. However, whereas walk a dog seems to focus on the object, the dog, that is made to walk, walk your bike seems to put the focus on the person walking which is not the object, considering the communicative purpose of the sign prohibiting the ride on the road. Anyway this sign interested me so much and I thanked her a lot.
