The Strait Arch, Lincoln

The Strait Arch is designed to remember the area's history:
The Roman amphorae depicts the area's Roman heritage and the fish markets held in the area.
Lincoln Castle, built in 1068, can be found at the top of the hill leading from The Strait.
The Star of David signifies the prominence of Jews in Lincoln's history - including the financing of the Bishops' Palace and, possibly, Lincoln Cathedral itself.
The Lincoln Imp: a legendary figure found in Lincoln Cathedral.
The cross, linked to Lincoln Cathedral which stands tall over the street.
A museum drawing attention to The Collection and the Usher Gallery nearby to The Strait.

The hare and the goose represent the skin and poultry markets which were held here in Medieval times.
