A view from St Swithin

The Duomo Siena

We took the bus to Siena today - it took about an hour and a half and it was good to get out of the city and catch a glimpse of some Tuscan countryside. The sun also shone and it was pretty hot at times .
This is a blip of the cathedral with its famous black and white marble facade . £10 got us inside plus a visit to the museum , baptistry and a roof top view of the village ( extras ) . Another dollop of fairly awe inspiring art /sculpture and frescos and I'm beginning to wish I'd done a bit of homework on the Renaissance before coming out here . Spent an hour or two in the sun in the famous square or Campo after wandering around the network of small streets and narrow alleys .
